Raised on farms in North Central Kansas and saved as teenagers in a small rural church, God put a strong tug on our hearts to reach out to others in rural America. Graduating from Calvary Bible College (now Calvary University) in Kansas City, we were appointed with Village Missions to Finchford, Iowa in 1962. Then came Formoso, KS and Ingalls, KS.

In 1977 we were asked to serve eight states in the Midwest as District Representative. Then in 1990, CEO Jack Canady asked me to come to Dallas, OR, to aid him. Beginning January 1991 we served in several jobs: moving the office into the city of Dallas, remodeling it, moving financial operations from Stonecroft in Kansas City to Dallas, and finally serving as the first CFO of VM. Marilyn served as Candidating Secretary.

Retired in 2003, we moved back near our children living in Cedar Rapids, IA. Now we serve in our local church with various responsibilities.
Village Missions exists to glorify Jesus Christ by developing spiritually vital country churches in rural North America. We fulfill this aim by placing pastors in small town and rural churches that might otherwise have to close, and in doing so, preserve the Gospel presence in over 220 communities across the United States and Canada.
