Russell and Linda Richardson
Pastoral ministry was on Russ' mind when he left Oklahoma for Bible College in Alberta, Canada. There he first learned of Village Missions from former Village Missionaries, students from a Village Missions church, and representatives who visited the school. Serving with Village Missions was not on his mind, however.
While at Bible college, he met Linda and they eventually were engaged to be married. Just days before graduation, the Lord spoke clearly to Russ' heart with a call to serve with Village Missions. Neither Russ nor Linda were "country folk," but they were willing to serve wherever God wanted.
They served with Village Missions from 1976 to 2023. Their last field was Sauvie Island Community Church, near Portland, Oregon.

Village Missions exists to glorify Jesus Christ by developing spiritually vital country churches in rural North America. We fulfill this aim by placing pastors in small town and rural churches that might otherwise have to close, and in doing so, preserve the Gospel presence in over 220 communities across the United States and Canada.
