Gary and Laurene Munger

Gary and Laurene both grew up on ranches in north central Nebraska. Neither was raised in a Christian home. They were high school sweethearts and married a year after graduation. They worked for Laurene's parents until 1982 when Gary's mother died. In May, 1982 they purchased and moved to Gary's family ranch, which had been homesteaded in 1883.

In the spring of 1983 a young Village Missionary from the New Hope Community Church in Springview, NE, came to visit. That visit led to them doing a Bible study with Pastor Rod Krey. They were both saved under his ministry, as well as their two children. Both served the church in various capacities for many years.

In 2005, Gary and Laurene felt God leading them to serve with Village Missions. Initially they served as Associate Village Missionaries in churches that were without a fulltime pastor.

They attended Candidate School in 2006 and were accepted and immediately sent to Yampa Bible Church in Yampa, CO. They served on two other fields after that.

Village Missions exists to glorify Jesus Christ by developing spiritually vital country churches in rural North America. We fulfill this aim by placing pastors in small town and rural churches that might otherwise have to close, and in doing so, preserve the Gospel presence in over 210 communities across the United States and Canada.
