Doug and Sally Johnson
Doug was encouraged to consider Village Missions by District Representative Bob Rayburn while in Bible College. Doug and Sally felt this ministry would be an effective way to invest their lives and make a deep and lasting impact. They became Village Missionaries in October of 1981, first serving in Osage, Wyoming. They served several churches across the Midwest, the last one in Pickstown, SD. God provided abundant help to Doug and Sally along the way and gave their children valuable life experiences. Doug and Sally found Village Missions to be highly effective in supporting them in the small church atmosphere and as they loved and served people outside the church doors. Many experiences taught them dependence on the Lord and a greater love for the forgotten people in isolated and rural communities.
Village Missions exists to glorify Jesus Christ by developing spiritually vital country churches in rural North America. We fulfill this aim by placing pastors in small town and rural churches that might otherwise have to close, and in doing so, preserve the Gospel presence in over 210 communities across the United States and Canada.
