Dwight and Kathy Walker

Send a Note Start a Campaign Add to Prayer

Dwight and Kathy met while attending West Texas A&M University and were discipled through Campus Crusade for Christ. They married and graduated with degrees in education. In Seguin, Texas, they taught middle school and helped start a Campus Crusade group at a small local college. God used this experience to call them into vocational ministry.

Dwight responded by attending Dallas Theological Seminary, earning a Master of Christian Education degree. Together they have served in many roles within churches in Texas, North Dakota, Washington, and Oregon. Dwight’s desire is to help people grow in their relationship with Christ through the preaching of the Word and developing loving relationships.

After serving as an interim pastor in a small church, Dwight and Kathy came to a crossroads in ministry. A friend who served with Village Mission, told them about the growing need for pastors in rural America. After learning that about 6,000 churches a year across America are closing their doors for lack of a pastor, Romans 10:14-15 came to mind, “How shall they hear without a preacher?”

Our heart’s desire is to lead people to Christ and help them grow in their faith. We believe that God desires to use our training and ministry experiences for this very purpose, to go to the places where the need is greatest. Jesus calls us to go and make disciples but we are not able to do this alone.  We invite you to join our team and be a part of God’s work in rural North America through prayer and financial support.

Village Missions exists to glorify Jesus Christ by developing spiritually vital country churches in rural North America. We fulfill this aim by placing pastors in small town and rural churches that might otherwise have to close, and in doing so, preserve the Gospel presence in over 210 communities across the United States and Canada.
