A unique work and vocational path took me through Olds College (Diploma of Ag Production 2000), N.A.I.T (Journeyman Welder 2003) and Taylor Seminary (M.Div. 2011). Graduating from seminary formalized the transition from working in agriculture and welding to vocational ministry.
The seeds of this change were planted much earlier in a small rural church in Gwynne, AB. In my early 20s, I taught the Bible and served as board chairman. During this time, the church received its first Village Missionary, and my relationship with VM as an organization began.
Jenneke and I made our formal application to VM in the fall of 2010 and arrived on our first field -- Middle Lake, SK -- in June 2011. "Preaching the Word and loving the people" has included repairing equipment, helping with cattle, speaking and visiting in a local nursing home, and being a steady presence teaching in the pulpit. For a time, we served on the board of VM Canada.
In 2025 we started serving in Langenburg, SK.
Would you consider partnering with us and VM to develop spiritually vital rural churches through your prayers, encouragement and financial gifts?

Village Missions exists to glorify Jesus Christ by developing spiritually vital country churches in rural North America. We fulfill this aim by placing pastors in small town and rural churches that might otherwise have to close, and in doing so, preserve the Gospel presence in over 210 communities across the United States and Canada.
