Steve and Lisa Rief, along with their seven children, have been serving with Village Missions since 1990.

Lisa was raised as a missionary kid in the jungles of Africa so has always had a heart for missions. Steve graduated from Talbot Seminary and Lisa from Biola with her Teaching Credential. Through a Biola Missions Conference, God convicted them of the need for pastors and their wives in the neglected churches and communities of rural America.

Since 1995, they have been serving in Redland, Oregon, a community of Christmas tree and hay farmers and livestock and horse ranchers. Their outreach to the community through their church includes a Free Zone Clothing and Food Outlet; a monthly Sack Lunch Ministry for the local Homeless Shelter; a Ladies Bible Study; and a lively AWANA Kids Club (where Lisa has enjoyed using her teaching skills). Steve faithfully preaches the Word every Sunday, leads a Men's Bible Study weekly, and spends time getting to know the Redland neighbors and is always available in their time of need, sickness or loss.

All of Steve and Lisa's children (and now grandchildren) are actively and enthusiastically involved in helping them in their ministry and have developed a love for the people here and a desire to see them come to know Jesus as their Savior and Lord.
