Fulfilling a long-time calling, Tom (previously a road construction worker) went to Multnomah Bible College, while Karen taught elementary in the Portland, Oregon, area. After graduating, we moved back to North Bend and interned at Hauser Community Church for one year, and then in June 2003 we were placed in Tensed, Idaho, by Village Missions.

We are still here serving this area. Not only do we preach and teach in the church, but we also are involved in our local community. Karen is the Tensed Librarian and substitute teacher at the local school on occasion. Tom also serves our community as a reserve deputy, sworn in for Benewah County. We look after the needs of church members and attendees. We also care for older folks in the community, such as by making sure they have enough firewood to make it through the winter.

Would you partner with Tommie and Karen and Village Missions to develop spiritually thriving rural churches through your prayers, encouragement and financial gifts?
Tommie and Karen Owen
Village Missions exists to glorify Jesus Christ by developing spiritually vital country churches in rural North America. We fulfill this aim by placing pastors in small town and rural churches that might otherwise have to close, and in doing so, preserve the Gospel presence in over 220 communities across the United States and Canada.
