Samuel and Mary Courts

Growing up in a rural farming community, Sam always had a desire to serve pastorally in a rural community, but the Lord did not open the door for that kind of ministry until much later. For 25 years the Courts served in lay capacities in urban churches in the Denver area.

In 1997 God brought Village Missions to our attention, and we began serving a very rural community in Springview, Nebraska, in 1998, where Sam was able to "play cowboy" with area ranchers, teaching and preaching the gospel as he helped on farms and ranches, drove a school bus, and volunteered as a firefighter. Mary led many ladies Bible Studies, cared for young children in their home, and helped in the community in a variety of ways.

After serving there for almost 16 years, God moved them to Deer Trail in rural Colorado, just east of the Denver metro area. They feel blessed to live there, being active in the school and community, and additionally blessed to be closer to some of their grown children and grandchildren. Sam serves as school transportation director and is on the board of a local Crisis Pregnancy/Women's Resource Center, where Mary also volunteers. They also have a very active Awana ministry with another local church.

Would you partner with Sam and Mary through Village Missions in reaching rural -- and even some urban -- communities like Deer Trail with the gospel of Christ Jesus?
Samuel and Mary Courts
Village Missions exists to glorify Jesus Christ by developing spiritually vital country churches in rural North America. We fulfill this aim by placing pastors in small town and rural churches that might otherwise have to close, and in doing so, preserve the Gospel presence in over 220 communities across the United States and Canada.
