Dennis and Leslie Burke
Dennis and Leslie met while both were working in construction in Florida. They married and had two sons and were actively involved in their church. After going on two international mission trips, they felt the call to missions. They sold their home and moved to Columbia, SC, where Dennis finished his degree at Columbia International University. While there, they were encouraged by Dennis' professor and mentor to consider Village Missions.
In December 1995, they became Village Missionaries and began serving in Jamestown, NY. After 5 years, the mission moved them to Amsterdam, NY, where they currently serve. They haven't completely hung up their construction tools; the church added on a large addition that doubled the size of the building. Their family has grown to include a sweet daughter-in-law and 4 beautiful grandbabies. Presently they are enjoying the challenge of building into people's lives with the message of the Gospel.
