I was brought up in an Episcopal church, but after trusting in Christ for my salvation following high school, left for a Christian college. Eventually, when finishing school in Maryland, I ended up at a Village Missions church in Maryland. I was employed by the church for about twelve years, and following this, Kathi and I joined Village Missions.

We were in upstate NY for thirteen years with our first VM church, and we currently are serving in New Gloucester, Maine. Our work here, as is the work of all Village Missionaries, is to preach the Word and love the people. Depending on where you are at, as well as the demographics of the church and community, how you accomplish this will look different at each field. Here at New Gloucester there are a number of teaching times during the week and discipleship is taken very seriously. I, myself, teach a morning men's study, the Sunday adult Bible Class, do a Sunday evening study series, preach Sunday, and am personally involved in AWANA and a three-hour long class on Thursday night. My wife helps lead a homeschool co-op, is the leader of the Nursery Ministry, and teaches at AWANA, along with helping out with a number of other things.

Together we visit and encourage those in the church and community as we get to know the people in our field. Soon, we will have been on our field for a year, so we are still in the process of praying and assessing other areas, both in the church, and community, where God would have us serve Him.

Village Missions exists to glorify Jesus Christ by developing spiritually vital country churches in rural North America. We fulfill this aim by placing pastors in small town and rural churches that might otherwise have to close, and in doing so, preserve the Gospel presence in over 220 communities across the United States and Canada.
